Handmade cotton apron with silk ribbon and 2 full-size front pockets
I entered the kitchen to do some baking this week, some coconut and pumpkin muffins (stay tuned for the recipe!). And it made the whole experience even more exciting to wear my coveted handmade apron. The apron may have been created out of necessity, but it has transitioned over time into a stylish accessory in the kitchen. Whether you are hosting company or not, a cute and stylish apron can make spending time in the kitchen that much more exciting.

Pockets Included!
Now, one lucky reader will get to know the feeling. The talented husband and wife team at the DomesticNest.com has generously offered to giveaway a handmade apron to one lucky blog reader. The Domestic Nest creates handmade and re-purposed gifts for inspired gift-giving. While they don’t yet have the aprons available for sale on their Etsy site, they do have some beautiful aprons available for purchase at the various Farmers Markets they participate in around town. Watch their blog and Facebook updates for upcoming Farmers Market dates.
Simply leave a comment on this post telling us what you love most about aprons. A winner for our first giveaway, the apron shown in this post, will be chosen at random. The deadline to comment is by midnight PST October 11th, 2009. That’s less than 1 week away, share your thoughts today!

That apron is adorable!
I love aprons because they make otherwise boring chores fun! Nothing makes doing dishes into a flirty activity like a cute little apron.
I love aprons because they stop me from messing up my clothes and at the same time being a funky accessory!
Allison Cafe got me in the habit of wearing aprons. That has saved a lot of good clothes when working in the kitchen. I love the sophisticated style of the apron you are giving away from The Domestic Nest. Best of luck to all.
